Editorial standards
Coos Daily publishes source-linked local news briefs, reported articles, guides, event information, and directory listings for Coös County. The Coos Daily Editorial team is responsible for work published under its byline.

News briefs and automation
Some short briefs are drafted with automation from material supplied by a named public agency or local organization. Automatic publication is limited to approved sources; other sources remain queued for review. The workflow is instructed not to add facts beyond the supplied material. Each brief is labeled News brief and links to its source when a source URL is available.
An automated brief is not treated as original reporting. Brief pages remain out of search indexing unless an editor expands, reviews, and promotes the work to a reported article.
Reported articles and guides
A reported article must be explicitly marked as such and carry an editorial review date before it can enter search discovery. Guides identify the official or primary sources used, distinguish sourced facts from Coos Daily's synthesis, and avoid claims of firsthand experience when none occurred.
Publication dates describe when an item first appeared. An updated date is shown only after a material change to published facts or guidance.
Directory information
Directory records may include imported public business data and a visible “data as of” date. Unclaimed listings are not endorsements or rankings. Automatically generated placeholder descriptions are excluded from Coos Daily's full-text AI discovery file until they have stronger source support.
Business owners and authorized representatives can use the listing claim form. A claim is marked owner-verified only after Coos Daily reviews the representative's authority and requested facts. Claiming is free and does not confer an endorsement, ranking, or featured placement.
Local sources and contributors
Official agencies, organizations, subject-matter experts, and community members can submit primary materials, factual corrections, and clearly attributed local context. Submissions are evaluated for proximity, evidence, corroboration, independence, timeliness, and relevant conflicts of interest.
